How Does Skin Resurfacing Work?
We use the Fotona laser system to target your skin’s imperfections. Unlike chemical peels or dermabrasion, this method is incredibly precise. It allows us to resurface the top layers of the skin to reveal the healthier, untouched layers as well as target deeper areas to promote collagen and elastin production.

What to Expect From Skin Resurfacing Treatment
Your experience will depend on what method is used. Our custom treatments vary in depth and level of downtime. Regardless of what kind of treatment you are pursuing, we will begin by numbing the area, either with a topical or local anesthetic.
Once the area is numb, we will proceed with your treatment. Depending on the scale of your treatment, it may take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours.
Your skin may feel tender, hot, and swollen after treatment. Redness can last anywhere from 1 – 5 days. An occlusive ointment is applied to the area to keep it protected and hydrated. Our team will then provide you with care instructions to follow during your recovery. It’s important that you follow our instructions very carefully.

Skin resurfacing treatments are performed by a Certified Laser Technician.
Depending on your treatment, healing time is around 3–10 days. Treatment for deep acne scars, for example, will likely take closer to 10 days.
Peeling and reddish-pink skin is normal after treatment. As your skin heals, both will gradually subside.
To help your skin heal, you should:
- Keep your skin clean
- Avoid sun exposure & use sunscreen
- Moisturize regularly
- Follow any other instructions from your laser technician
